1 Objective and Scope

1.1 Objective

The objective of a machine condition (health) assessment is to provide the following:

• Assess selected machinery and piping system assets to ensure fitness for operation for the next 20 years
• Identify weak links and current or potential hazards and recommend suitable actions to mitigate risks
• Establish a replacement/upgrade plan based on health condition or obsolescence

1.2 Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Inspect machinery, piping, foundation, and auxiliaries by experts
• Provide performance history and analysis based on key performance measures
• Review maintenance practices, history, and policy
• Evaluate machinery improvements, upgrade, or replacement
• Assess reliability and monitoring processes for  machines and piping systems

This assessment includes many of VDN’s other field services coordinated to ensure an integrated and complete machinery health check that includes performance, vibration, maintenance, and reliability.
